The full album is available for digital download or on CD through the band's website wefunknation.comThe 420 Funk Mob started as Clip Payne’s off-days project that features a revolving cast of his friends from inside and outside the P-Funk universe in 1997. Over time the 420 Funk Mob has evolved into one of the most versatile “jam” bands on the music scene today. Their unique live sound has been described as a blend of 70’s Soul and Psychedelic Rock N Roll, Sly Stone crossed with a spunky Grateful Dead/Jimi Hendrix style jam session. The band released two critically acclaimed live albums “Live on the Off Days” and Live in Spain.” Clip Payne has brought that same genre-bending 420 Funk Mob live show sound to the band's first studio recording “Emperor Has No Clones.” The album is a journey through the worlds of Funk, Soul, and Rock N Roll performed by some of the genre’s best musicians as well as Rock Icons and upcoming stars. “Flirt” features George Clinton. In “Slave to the System” label mates DRUGS: The Prescription for Mis-America’s Chicken Burke, Adam Widoff, and Joey Eppard provide the groove. “Up South” showcases some vintage Garry Starchild Shider guitar work while the Bob Weir sanctioned cover of the Grateful Dead classic “Estimated Prophet” features France’s Horn Dawgs” taking the leads along with blistering guitar solos by Mike Kidd Funkadelic Hampton and Ted Orr.
